Truckers Cleaning Up Britain was started in 2019 by Martin Burrows, an HGV driver from Stafford, who was fed up of seeing the litter that blights our laybys and industrial estates. He decided to do something about it and so his litter picking journey began. Shortly after, Martin set up a page on Facebook not really knowing if there would be much interest. However the group has steadily grown from those early days and now there are lots of drivers getting out of their cabs and making a difference. A Twitter page was added in 2020 which has spread the word even further. Both platforms have followers from all over the world, all keen to help change people's perceptions of HGV drivers.

Truckers Cleaning Up Britain has featured in both Truck & Driver Magazine and People's Friend.
In 2021 Martin was awarded the “Points Of Light” award from Prime Minister Boris Johnson in recognition of his “exceptional service encouraging truck drivers across the UK to keep roads tidy”. Click here >> Martin Burrows' Award
